Event information

Where is WODland Endurorun?

WODland Endurorun is located in and around Holme Styes Wood, Holmfirth (near: HD9 2DE), located just 40 minutes from Leeds and just 30 minutes from Manchester. It’s only a 20 minutes drive from the M1 / M62, making it so easy to access.

Parking is available onsite at a cost of £5 for the full day and can be pre booked via our website store.

How it Works

Endurorun 5km, 10km, 20km are individual solo events. Choose your distance and get ready to race!

Endurorun Solo Challenge is designed for you to solely complete as many loops as possible in 6 hours.
Endurorun Team Challenge is designed for you and your buddies to work together to as many loops as possible in 6 hours.
You can enter the team challenge with up to 3 people. Only 1 team mate runs a loop at a time. You can switch team mates, relay-style, at the start line, with each team mate completing as many laps as they like, but only switching after a complete lap, at the start point.

There is one starting line where everyone will begin from, and this same line then becomes the looping line that provides loop-split times each time you go around. When you're ready to finish, you cross the same line and let one of our team know that you're finished, and we can then provide you with your results.

Signing Up

Once you enter (click the distance you would like to enter above), you will receive a confirmation email. Leading up to the race you will then receive more information, guidance and support regarding the event.

If you are between the ages of 12 - 15 then your parent or guardian must contact us in order to organise your place and your parent or guardian must attend the event with you. We do not allow under 12's to participate in any of our current events. Please read further in our T&C’s with regards to distance restrictions for participants under the age of 20 years old (on the day of the event).

Where do I register/ pick up my race number on the day?

Event registration will begin onsite at 7.00am, where you will collect your race number, (chip timing ankle strap if using them) and have some time to warm up and get familiar with the event village. A map is included in your pre-event email and event guide, to make sure you are familiar with WODland before you arrive.

The event briefing will then take place at 8.45am before all runners will toe the line ready to start at 9.00am.

Parking will be open from 7:00am, but please allow yourself enough time to park, register and grab your race number and chip timer before the race briefing five minutes before the run begins at 9am.

Is there a time limit?

There is NO minimum time restriction when entering the Endurorun 5km, 10km or 20km race (as long as you complete that distance within the 6 hour event day). There is a time limit of 6 hours for the Endurorun Challenge team and solo events.

This means that you need to have completed your final lap for the 6 hour challenge before the end of the 6 hours for it to be counted towards your final distance. Each lap is exactly 5km long which means if you complete 5 laps you will have done over half a marathon. Complete 9 laps and you’ve gone past the full marathon distance, and 10 laps or more will be classed as an ultra backyard runner.

If you have entered the 6 hour challenge, you can choose to finish your event at any time within the 6 hours, and as long as you have completed just one lap then you will be classed as a Endurorun finisher.

What do I get with my entry?

  • A unique and bespoke medal design just for this event.

  • All the food, drink, and nibbles that you could imagine at the aid station.

  • A beautiful route with free mud in sections.

  • Amazing support from the WODland Endurorun Community!

Is there an Aid station?

We will have a fully stocked aid station at base camp and water will be available.

You can bring your own energy tablets, gels, and supplements to the aid station as well. We will have a separate area / table for these so please make sure that your bottles or items are clearly labeled so that no one takes them by accident!

What is the route?

The route is currently 3.1 miles long (5km) and runs through a mix of forest trails and single tracks. Underfoot you’ll have a mix of natural woodland and gravel tracks and I can guarantee that there could well be some mud too. So I’d recommend trail shoes if possible.

Do you have a bag drop?

We do not have any secure baggage areas on site but you are more than welcome to leave your bags at the base camp / aid station area. Whilst we can’t guarantee that they’ll be safe, there will always be someone from WODland Endurorun around.

What should I bring?

We would recommend trail shoes for this route! Also please make sure that you wear and bring with you adequate layers to keep yourself warm throughout the race and just as importantly, once you finish. Like all of our events going forward, we will be operating a bring your own bottle policy. That is, we will not be supplying plastic cups or drinks receptacles at this event so that we can cut down on waste and do our part to help the environment, and so you will be required to bring your own water bottle, collapsable cup, or similar to the event. We will still have an array of liquids available for you to top up your bottles with at our well-stocked aid station!

Is the run on a closed course?

The event will be taking place on and around Holme Styes Wood which is a working forest that will still be open to the public. There are no main roads and therefore no vehicles on the route (unless it is emergency / WODland staff). Runners and spectators will need to be considerate to all the other users in the area, be it walkers, cyclists, dog walkers, and children when passing through any of the “public access / footpath areas” of the forest.

What facilities will be available?

As we’re in the forest there will be portaloos available, so please respect that these toilets will be in use for all participants and spectators. We will allocate some within the aid station area for the Endurorun Challenge runners also.

We will also have some food / drink vendors on site for the day too. You will find out more about “who” as we get closer to the event.

First Aiders?

We will have external first aiders on site based around the aid station. if you require first aid, please visit them. This will be highlighted on our map also.

Please check out our events FAQ page for any other questions, otherwise email use on; info@wodland.co.uk for anything specific and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
